What's Covered In The Great Overview?
MODULE 1
God and the Cosmos
Knowledge is the basis of submission to God. Learn about the 'beginning', and the practical purpose of why God speaks about it. We explore:
- Who "Al'Lāh" is and where the term came from
- The beginning, the realms, the 'big bang', cosmic phenomena, and the coding of the universe (qadr)
- The Malak (angels), Iblis (Satan), the Rūh species, and other extra terrestrials.
You’ll finish this module with a complete picture of the "Lord of the Realms," the components of reality, and how they function.
MODULE 2
The Rise of Sapiens
With a deeper understanding of reality and the purpose of creation, the next step is to understand Sapiens. In this module, you’ll learn:
- The origins of Sapiens and the meaning of being 'insān'
- The development of early human communities and the emergence of polytheism
- The growth of civilisations, the rise of empires, and the significance of Abraham
By the end of this module, you will grasp the context and purpose of human creation, the roots of the Abrahamic tradition, and the Quran's references to early communities.
MODULE 3
The Chronicles of the Israelites
In the Quran, the stories of the Israelites comprise of learnings for future believers and both an invitation and warnings to the Jews. You’ll learn about:
- The early Patriarchs, primordial monotheism, and Israelite beginnings in Egypt
- The era of the 12 Judges and the unification of the Israelite tribes under a kingdom

The periods of conflict and exile, the rise of Judaism, and the mission of Jesus the anointed one (messiah)
By the end of this module, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between God and the Israelites, as referenced throughout the Quran.
MODULE 4
The Chronicles of the Ishmaelites
The Quran addresses the Israelites, Ishmaelites, pagans, pretenders, and the faithful amongst the two. In this module, you will learn:
- Primordial monotheism, the promise of the Ishmaelites and the children of Shem (Semites), and their role
- The significant Arabian tribes and the history of Bakkah
- The rise of polytheism, the call to return to Abrahamic monotheism (Hanīfiyyah), and the commitment to uphold the Abrahamic covenant
By the end of this module, you will understand the context leading up to the final revelation, a brief history of the Arabian peninsula, and both the nature and purpose of the message directed at the Ishmaelites.
MODULE 5
The Quran as the Final Proclamation
Aside from historical context, In this module, you’ll learn:
- The role of Messengers and Prophets
- The Quran as the King's final Proclamation
- What īmān in the Quran actually means and necessitates
- How to understand Arabic Quranic references in context
You’ll finish this module with a comprehensive context to the final message, and fully prepared to dive into the Qur'an (reading through it together during The Quran Program).
THE QURAN PROGRAM
The Ramadan Reading
In the final month (March 2025), we spend our Ramadan evenings going through a translation, in context. You'll learn:
- What God's point is at every step of the way, and throughout the message
- What God expects of you and why
- How to make sense of the message, the logic of its layout and the style of God's narration
Reading the entire text alongside a scholar, you’ll finish this program with a comprehensive understanding of the final message and renewed zeal to serve at the pleasure of the Lord supreme.
