The Habr (scribal scholar) Program
Â
The program is a focused learning track for those seeking deeper, structured engagement with divine revelation, historical context, and the wisdom embedded in the final message revealed to Muhammad. Centred on chapters 2â9 known as the "Long Seven" and characterised as the updated Torah by the Prophet, singled out for their depth and legal gravity, this program explores the foundation of the Ishmaelite mission to restore the Abraham's tradition and uphold the renewed covenantal law. The Prophetâs reference to one who masters these chapters as a áž„abr â an Arabic term usually describing ancient Israelite scribes of deep scriptural insight and communal leadership â serves as the inspiration behind this exclusive program, which aims to cultivate intelligent non-specialists who can think clearly, speak responsibly, and live purposefully in service of the Abrahamic restoration.
Each week, we explore 10â15 verses in detail, unpacking their historical, legal, and linguistic layers. We identify who God is addressing, why, and how these revelations tie into the broader covenantal story of Abraham and his descendants. Drawing on the Torah, Nev'im, Ketuvim, the Gospel and prophetic narrations, we bridge the parallels in God's broad decrees while highlighting literary structures often missed in semantic translation.
Students also have the opportunity to memorise each weekâs passages. As the prophetic apostle Anas b. MÄlik put it, âWhen a man would read The Heifer and Family of Amram, he was considered elevated in our eyes.â

Foundation of Covenantal Laws
Â
We delve into the foundations of the covenantal law through The Foundation of Laws (ÊżUmdat al-Aáž„kÄm), a carefully curated hadith compilation by ÊżAbd al-GhanÄ« al-MaqdisÄ« â a 12th-century Jerusalemite scholar of the QudÄma family who lived during the Crusader era. This text, sourced exclusively from the canonical collections of al-BukhÄrÄ« and Muslim, serves as a disciplined and accessible gateway into understanding God's law from first principles, grounding students in the prophetic articulation of the code.
The course unfolds over the course of a year, offering a profound and structured overview of Godâs covenantal law as revealed through scripture and exemplified by the final Messenger. Each session is dedicated to unpacking the legal, ethical, and spiritual dimensions embedded in the hadith, always within their broader scriptural context. Emphasis is placed on restoring coherence to the hadith tradition, which today is often misrepresented, decontextualised, or misunderstood.
To support and deepen student learning, the course includes a wide range of supplementary materials including subject breakdowns for each topic, visual diagrams to map key concepts, curated articles that explore deeper insights, and companion podcasts that bring the tradition to life through reflective commentary and contemporary relevance. Altogether, the program equips students with clarity, confidence, and a principled grounding in the covenantal path of law and guidance.Â
